Ben, Stephen, and Erica at Satoyama Mountain Farm were a pleasure to work with. They were extremely responsive through our entire wedding planning process leading up to and on the weekend of the event. When we booked the venue for our wedding, we were provided with a list of local vendors (you may use any vendor), blueprints of the barn and the house which made planning so much easier, and assistance with obtaining event insurance and any other odds and ends. We could not have asked for a better people to work with for our DIY wedding. I would do it over and over and over again at Satyoama Farm.

The venue is GORGEOUS, serene, and perfect for an outdoor wedding. The barn was a great space for the reception – and very beautiful on it's own, requiring very little decorating. All of our guests were raving about how amazing Satoyama Mountain Farm was. We rented the venue for a long weekend (Friday-Monday) and our entire bridal party (and significant others) were able to stay on location with us in the house for the weekend. This allowed us to spend quality time with family and friends both before and after the wedding.
A more perfect wedding venue doesn't exist.

This place was incredible. The site and views are beautiful. It was so nice that the place could sleep our whole close family too. Our wedding was exactly as I dreamed. ~ Elizabeth and Keith

My husband and I chose to get married at this gorgeous property both because of its pristine VT beauty and the values that it represents as a working permaculture farm. The house is large enough for over 20 friends and family and is cozy and clean, with everything you may need. We were able to have our rehearsal dinner in the house with over 30 people. The barn is unmatched in construction and views, with a panoramic vista of the VT mountains spanning an open side. Our guests were blown away by the views and loved hearing about the ongoing education and beneficial land work going on at the farm. We appreciated being able to compost our food scraps and keep waste very minimal. There are many nice trails on the property, a large fire pit area, and multiple ponds to explore. You will wish you could stay forever! ~Stephanie and Zak

Dear Ben,
Thank you for everything. I wish I could explain exactly what happened this weekend. Several people in our group described it as a spiritual experience.
The setting and property were extraordinary! To have a spot that we could all be together (many of us total strangers from 8 different countries) to get to know one another and then after spending 3 days together to have a wedding for the couple that brought us all together made our stay truly magical.

Love was so present and with an intensity that is rare to feel.  It could not have been more perfect!!
Thank you for being such a fantastic host and for sharing your incredibly special property with us.
Warmly and with the deepest of gratitude.
Angie

Our entire experience was flawless from start to finish. I was looking for a location to host my cousins' bachelorette party, and this fit the bill in every way. Laurel is a farmer who loves to jump in bodies of water and spend nights under the stars. Ben kindly gave us a tour of the property, explaining how the land was zoned, what was planted, and how his work would shape the nearby area in years to come. We swam in the pond, hiked around the property, enjoyed the sauna, and had champagne & s'mores around the fire at night. The house itself is enormous, and we all gaped at the amount of bedrooms and how nicely they were decorated. The kitchen and living area are lovely, and well suited for cooking group dinners, relaxing and playing games. We even utilized the yoga studio before leaving! Ben was more than accommodating, and the property itself is majestic. Just listening to the wind move through the trees is enough to make you want to book your next stay. ~Helen

This was such a special place to have our wedding weekend. After a thorough search of similar locations throughout Vermont, Satoyama Farm caught our eye and it took about 3 minutes of being on the grounds for us to know that this was the place for our special weekend. We were taken back by the stunning views, relaxed vibe and by our positive first-impressions of Ben. After booking the venue, the lead-up to the wedding was positive in terms of communication and straightforwardness. Ben and his father were responsive to our questions within a reasonable timeframe and were both helpful. Our only frustration throughout the process was involving the event insurance, which felt convoluted at some points. Streamlining this process could take away some significant hassle, especially for fellow DIY-ers like ourselves. With the event insurance frustrations aside, the rest of the process was smooth and allowed for our wedding weekend to be even more glorious than anticipated. Ben and family were on site throughout the weekend, which turned out to be reassuring and made for quick solutions to our questions/problems. They easily blended in and were busy doing their own thing, and we were more than happy to share some of our food, drink and conversations with them. The facilities were more than sufficient to have 50 people for our event, and we are really happy that we decided to stay in the house with close family and friends for 3 nights. This allowed for ourselves and the other house guests to get to know one another and to explore the grounds, and we absolutely utilized all that the farm had to offer, especially the ponds to cool off on our oppressively hot weekend. Also, guests walked the grounds, we had dinner and dance in the barn, had our ceremony in one of the open fields, took pictures in multiple picturesque locations and also had a fire the night of the wedding. The house itself was well stocked with enough kitchen utensils and appliances to prepare our wedding food, community breakfasts and other meals. It was critical to have the additional refrigerator space in the barn, which allowed us to better house our prepared food. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Satoyama Farm, and strongly recommend it to other people who are looking either for an exceptional, serene location for an event or for just a relaxed weekend away. ~Shayne and Heather

Just like us, our guests were floored with the set-up. The place was perfect for our wed-fest event. You just can't beat the pristine natural beauty of this place.

We went with a large group for four days. We had an amazing experience. The house is really well set up, comfortable beds, very good kitchen with everything you need. The barn and the yoga studio are so lovely to be in. And the land is magical. Two ponds to swim in and a gorgeous view of the mountains. Ben is really taking care of the place. We will be back!

I’m not sure I’ll be able to put into this short post just how wonderful our experience was getting married at Satoyama Mountain Farm. My husband and I were able to arrive a bit early with friends and family staying all together in the house on site. We all cooked together (the kitchen is, wow), walked the trails, relaxed and enjoyed the scenery and cows, and were able to easily hop on Rte 100 for daily adventures.
Ben and his family were all great to work with, allowing us a ton of flexibility to really make our weekend what we envisioned. Living on the property, it was incredibly easy to text Ben with questions and have him come over to help with house things if we needed but he also allowed us space to enjoy our time there. We were also very lucky, the Fall foliage popped at just the right time - but it would honestly be a beautiful location any time of the year. Very much a DIY wedding location, it IS the place for you if: - You want a much more private setting than most offer. There aren’t any random strangers walking around, only the cows will photo bomb you (if you’re lucky). - You’re looking for a lot of flexibility and a much more relaxed wedding environment. - You aren’t looking to have to deal with a ton of wasteful decorations. There’s beautiful string lighting already in the barn, the barn itself is amazing post and beam (why would you ever want to cover that up), and the surrounding views/landscape are GORGEOUS. - You’d like to spend a good amount of quality time with your bridal party or close friends & family who can also stay on site. - You’re looking for much more than just a wedding day and more of a wedding weekend. All in all I couldn’t imagine our wedding taking place anywhere else. **the total cost was for four nights and included full access and use to everything**

We absolutely loved getting married at Satoyama Mountain Farm! It is hard to put into words how beautiful this venue is. Nestled in the valley with gorgeous views from every spot on the property, this farm is one of the most beautiful and special places in Vermont. From our intimate pond-side ceremony to the outdoor cocktail party with stunning views to the rocking dance party in the barn and the after-party bonfire, we had the most wonderful weekend. Mid-September was a beautiful time here, and we had early foliage and great weather.
Our close friends all stayed in the farmhouse for the entire weekend, which provided the ideal layout for hanging out and relaxing. Seeing our friends who had never met become friends themselves over the weekend was one of the best parts of the entire experience- a unique experience facilitated by the intimate natural setting that we've rarely seen at other weddings. We had friends enjoying walks on the trails, yoga by the pond, stargazing, and a multitude of other opportunities this secluded natural gem has to offer. We DIY'ed a lot of our wedding, but you could also hire vendors and be really hands-off. With such a beautiful venue and views you really don’t have to do much to create a welcoming and wonderful experience.  The owners of the venue, Ben and Erica, are warm, kind people and were so helpful during the planning process and our wedding weekend. We wanted to support the regenerative work they are doing on the land. If putting your wedding funds towards a good cause is important to you then I recommend checking out the regenerative permaculture work they are doing! Thank you so much Ben and Erica for providing such a warm, stunning, magical place to celebrate our wedding with the people we love. We feel really lucky that we got to get married here. You guys are the best, and anyone would
be beyond lucky to get married here.

-Taka and Kaitlyn

This property is what dreams are made of. Ben and Erica steward this farm in such a beautiful and thoughtful way. It was the perfect wedding. We filled the farm house with family and wedding party. The house was clean, well maintained, and a great layout for sleeping lots of people. The kitchen is huge! We cooked dinner for 40 people at the house and roasted smores outside in the bonfire. Ben and Erica were super responsive - he even harvested a swiss chard and herb salad from the garden for us. The wedding itself was outside and the backdrop was beautiful. We had the dinner + dancing in the barn and we barely even needed to decorate - the space Ben built is just that beautiful. Our friends echoed all that I have said - it was the best wedding ever. We hiked, swam, and did yoga on our wedding day!! Incredible. I could not recommend this property enough. Thank you Ben and Erica!!!

My husband and I had our wedding of just under 100 people at Satoyama Mountain Farm, and it was absolutely perfect. Every inch of the property is well thought out, beautifully manicured, and just stunning. Not only was the property gorgeous beyond words, but Ben and Erica were very gracious hosts. They were available to help out with anything we needed. They even provided a list of recommended vendors to help make planning a breeze. The house is warm and inviting, perfect for our wedding party plus a few extra guests to stay in together for the weekend comfortably. There are not enough kind and positive things we can say about our experience at Satoyama Farm and the Falks. We strongly recommend this location for any event! Alyssa and Mark

We stayed a long February weekend for skiing at Sugarbush and the house was great. Roughly 18 of us and had plenty of room. The kitchen is huge and works great for big meals. Ben was very accommodating and replied quickly if we had any questions about the house. ~Mike and crew

This barn + house + surrounding property is absolutely beautiful. I could not recommend this venue enough. It's more than just a venue. Ben has done incredible work on the property, making it perfect for a couple who wants more than just a "barn wedding." This venue is above and beyond that. I can't even put into words how lucky we were to have found Ben's property. We had a 3 day weekend long wedding & it was perfect. From swimming in the ponds to playing kickball amongst currant bushes, to having a bonfire and smores at night, it was incredible. I cannot recommend this venue enough!!! -A and J
