FAQ

A licensed bartender is not required. This can save parties ~80% of alcohol cost and represents a savings of 1k to 3K.

The house includes all beds, bedding, towels, etc. and sleeps 23 in beds via 12 bedrooms which includes lofts above 4 of the 6 upstairs bedrooms. 24-28 have stayed in the house cozily with some air mattresses/cots. Some events arrange for camping on site for which there is plentiful and beautiful space.

For other guests there are very local airbnb's, Inn (Huntington House is great) within 10 mins of the site, and hundreds more beds within 20-30 gorgeous drive minutes including Warren, East Middlebury, Bethel.

Yes you can pick flowers from the farm for your wedding! From July onward the selection is quite stunning.

We don't require specific vendors. We provide all booked parties a vetted list of local vendors who we've worked with over the years.

People rent portable toilets, tables, tableware and other items from local vendors who deliver midweek and have been here many times. There is no need to be on site to receive deliveries.

The wide slab benches shown in photos here hold about 120 and number 30 in units.

Yes, cell reception is limited in this area (unless you have AT&T), and no, people don't find this a challenge - they enjoy the break from "connectivity" and use the house fiber optic wifi for their phone and email/text needs.

You will oriented to the site, and be provided with 24-7 facilities assistance as needed during the event and check the group in.

We include nice lighting and beautiful wide slab wooden benches for about 125 people (as shown in our website photos) and some rustic tables that half the groups choose to use. Table and chairs, flatware, etc. is rented usually from Celebration Rentals in Brandon VT. They drop everything off 2-3 days before the event and know the area well. Same with portable toilet and all other vendors. Most good vendors in central VT (and there are many given the popularity of weddings in VT) have been to the site and know where everything goes. The party does not need to be present for the drop offs. Due to Vermont being so wedding-oriented, people can successfully arrange weddings without coordinators . I am happy to provide information and guidance during planning.

At check-in the group will receive orientation to the site and review property, rules and regulations. Owner is available by cell 24-7.

We look forward to hearing from you and welcome you to arrange a tour in the future.

PS: About our farm:

We are a carbon-negative, organic farm, and medicinal plant botanical sanctuary. We host 10-day permaculture design workshops on site, yoga retreats, natural movement workshops and other health-focused programs. Weddings here help support our larger mission. Our work is an extension of the homesteading and farming on our original site featured in Ben Falk’s book The Resilient Farm and Homestead.
